We will be learning about past and present leaders who have made a positive impact in our world. The list of people includes Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jane Goodall, Malala, Desmond Tutu, Bill Gates, Mother Teresa, Abe Lincoln, Nelson Mandela. We will do a variety of hands-on activities reflecting on the works of these people, including a community outreach project that the students will decide on together.

In this class we learn about kinetic energy and how we can use it to make a variety of structures. Some kinetic sculptures are made specifically as art pieces, while some serve very specific mechanical purposes. We will explore both of these, and create several kinetic sculptures/towers/machines based on what we learn.

Use LEGO to practice building stories! Students will use the unique set of inspiring bricks and pieces that comprise the LEGO Story Starter curriculum, along with exciting prompts and backgrounds, to polish their story-telling skills. Once their build is complete, they will photograph the scenes they have created and use these photos to illustrate comics or graphic novels. The possibilities are endless!
