🚨Due to ongoing water intrusion into our suite, classes for Tuesday are CANCELLED. 🚨
We returned to IfSpace post #Irma to find significant water damage to our space, which we thought had been caused by wind-driven rain and old, leaky windows. Based on our observations today and the new ‘water feature’ in the computer lab and Tinker Tots, it’s clear that the problem is much more extensive than we originally understood.
We’re working with recovery contractors to help protect against mold and mildew by extracting the carpets and providing additional ventilation to the space, in addition to waiting on much-needed roof repairs. This work must take place tomorrow, as time is of the essence in preventing additional damage.
We are amending our daily schedule and lengthening class sessions for the remaining 11 weeks of the semester to make up the missed 100 minutes of class due to Irma.
Provided the restoration work continues as anticipated, we should be able to resume our normal schedule on Wednesday, September 20.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we try to get back on our feet.
