This will be a hands-on class where students learn about chemistry, study the properties of matter and how matter interacts with energy. There will be class activities, discussions, and lots of messy exciting fun as we study the general science of chemistry and how scientists use it in their professions.
In this class we will be reading a variety of children’s classics from favorite authors, including Eric Carle, Dr. Suess, Jane Yolen, Tomie dePaola, Audrey Wood and many others. We will create lap books, art projects and our own works of literature! Students will choose the books and projects from a wide range of suggestions.
During this class we will explore the history of comic books, different techniques that cartoonists use, and apply these to create a comic book of our own! We will also be using different art mediums to create cartoon panels as well as flip books.
